Donate $20K to Big Blue, get a ‘real’ dolphin

After a few days since his Kickstarter campaign was started to create a new Ecco the Dolphin underwater creature game called Big Blue, game designer Ed Annunziata sent an update to backers alerting them to a new reward tier.

If you donate $20,000 or more, you will get “an actual LIVE dolphin.” After, we presume, your payment clears, Ed and his team will ship your new dolphin in an overnight box that will be wrapped in wet rags to keep it “moist and fresh.” Ewwww.

Currently, the game has a nearly $44,000 pledged against its $660,000 goal, which ends on April 29. That means, by our cracking calculations, that if 31 people donate enough to get a dolphin, Big Blue will be funded! C’mon, we’re sure there’s enough people out there in need of their own dolphin.

On a more serious note, we scored a great interview with Ed during the Game Developers Conference and are hard at work getting it ready to post. We should have it for you later tonight!
