Atlus announces Persona 25th Anniversary celebration, teases 7 projects

Atlus has launched a new website confirming the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Persona franchise! The site has merchandise already up for pre-order to commemorate the celebration, but there are some elements fans should be very excited about! First up is this quote translated from the website.

“As of 2021, the Persona series has sold over 15 million copies worldwide,” the website reads. “To all our fans that have supported us for so long, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And this coming September, the Persona series will finally celebrate its 25th anniversary. To show our gratitude to everyone, we are preparing a number of celebrations for the ‘Persona 25th Anniversary Year,’ which will last for about one year—from September 2021 to fall 2022. From 25th anniversary goods and various events to game news and more, we will be making all sorts of anniversary announcements. Please look forward to them.”

Per Atlus

Next is the fact Atlus has confirmed that 7, yes SEVEN projects are in development for the anniversary! On the website are these two curious images that seem to hint that games are part of those seven projects.

Fans were quick to point out in the first image that Persona 3 FES is missing. Could this mean that Persona 3 FES could be getting a remaster or port as Persona 4 Golden did in 2020? Only time will tell! As for other things these projects could be, who knows? I think it’ll be a bit before we see Persona 6 in any capacity gameplay-wise, but a surprise announcement like a sequel to Persona 4 Arena isn’t a crazy idea. The second image makes me believe that a reveal for the new protagonist of Persona 6 could happen during the event at any point. Whatever Atlus decides to announce for the series, we will keep readers updated.

The celebration event will run from September 2021 to the Fall of 2022 according to the website. What do you want to see announced for the event? Persona 6? A port of Persona 3 FES? Or maybe something out of left field like a sequel to Persona 5 Strikers (which we enjoyed quite a bit). Let us know below!
