PlatinumGames, Square have no plans to stop Babylon’s Fall development

It’s been less than a month since its release, but it’s been a disastrous launch for Babylon’s Fall. The game currently has a 39 score on Metacritic with an abysmal 1.5 user score with only 49 user reviews. That’s catastrophically bad for a live service game that relies on players continuing to play to survive. Despite all that, PlatinumGames and Square Enix don’t have plans to give up on the game anytime soon.

In a post to Babylon’s Fall‘s Twitter account, the PlatinumGames development team assured players the game would continue service. Not only that, but that content has been finished for season 2, and work has started on season 3. You can check out the tweet below

Can Square and PlatinumGames save Babylon’s Fall ?

You know, I’m not one to come here and say something is impossible. There have been live service games that have saved themselves after a horrific launch. Heck, Final Fantasy XIV did, and it’s now one of the best success stories in all of gaming! But I don’t see that happening with Babylon’s Fall. It would take a massive overhaul to the game’s art design and heavily criticized microtransaction system. Square and Platinum will have to swallow a lot of pride (and money) to fix those.

Babylon’s Fall is available now for PlayStation 4/5 and PC. Although it seems like you might want to wait to play it at this rate. Do you think the game can be saved in the future? Let us know below in the comments!
