Xeno Crisis Kickstarter confirms Neo Geo release

Xeno Crisis news heading your way! The top down arena shooter that started out as a SEGA Genesis project has turned into so much more. Not only has it hit the initial goal it has now has releases on the Nintendo Switch, Steam, SEGA Dreamcast. The soundtrack is on CD and vinyl. So how can this get any better? How about a Neo-Geo release as well. It was added with the May 2021 update, and it’s not yet made it’s way to the campaign page as of yet.

Here’s what Bitmap Bureau had to say:

We have gone GOLD! Both the Neo Geo AES/MVS and Neo Geo CD versions have now been completed, in fact the only thing remaining is just to update the list of hostage names which we will be confirming with everyone shortly.

The Neo Geo version has seen hundreds of little refinements, additions, tweaks and improvements, not only its code, but also in terms of the graphics and sound. It’s been fully integrated with the Neo Geo hardware and software behaviours, and we hope you’ll agree that it genuinely feels like an original Neo Geo title!

Xeno Crisis is a rogue like, top down shooter in the same style of Smash TV and Zombie Ate My Neighbors. The Dev team consists of pixel artist Henk Neiborg who worked on the Genesis game The Misadventures of Fink. The OST will be provided by Savaged Regime who is popular for their chip-tune music using the YM262 sound chip. The team has also worked with Namco, Adult Swim, Disney and Eidos as publishers.
