Vanquish is now backwards compatible on Xbox One

Platinum Games' classic third-person shooter joins the next generation

It’s been quite the month for Platinum Games fans as Bayonetta 1 and 2 just released on the Nintendo Switch, and now we’ve received word that the incredibly awesome Vanquish is now backwards compatible on the Xbox One.

Originally released in 2010 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Vanquish is the brainchild of Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. After many requests by fans over the years, SEGA and Platinum Games finally ported Vanquish to the PC via Steam in May 2017, complete with a boost in resolution and framerate.

Our European Editor Graham Cookson reviewed the game when it released on Steam and gave it an “Excellent” rating, saying that “Vanquish is still a unique title, with fast-paced intense and frantic action throughout. If you like action, shooting and fighting against impossible odds, Vanquish is a really fun game, where the combat rarely lets up and every section has something new to offer.”

You can purchase Vanquish on the Xbox Marketplace for $19.99 here.
