The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Amnesia: The Bunker and more!

Good morning, and happy Monday, everyone! As Memorial Day weekend approaches, we have lots of fun new releases to enjoy. Whether you want to journey into Middle Earth in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum or dive into the horrors of Amnesia: The Bunker, there’s something for you this week. So, without further adieu, here are all the games coming out this week!

Inkbound (May 22)

Starting things off this week, we have Inkbound. Developed by Shiny Shoe, this charming strategy title puts a new twist on the roguelike formula. The game places you into a magical world called Atheneum, where countless stories emerge and come to life.

Throughout your adventure, you’ll enter realms defined by books and help shape and define the worlds and narratives within. As you explore through the wonderful lands, you’ll also paint the ground with area-of-effect powers that aim to bring down the creatures you’ll encounter along the way. Inkbound turns the page onto PC today.

After Us (May 23)

After Us is an adventure game with abstract post-human themes. Developed by Piccolo and published by Private Division, this title places you onto a dead Earth after the extinction of humans and wildlife. Players take on the role of Gaia, the Spirit of Life as you try to recover what’s left by restoring the souls of perished animals.

Throughout the game, you’ll learn about how the ravaged planet led to the end of all life. However, one life force, oil-drenched creatures called Devourers, do inhabit this hostile planet. After Us journeys onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC tomorrow.

Amnesia: The Bunker (May 23)

Amnesia: The Bunker is an open-world horror game set during World War I. Developed and published by Frictional Games, this creepy title puts you into the boots of a French soldier who gets separated from his comrades and trapped inside a military bunker. As you explore the labyrinthine, trap-laden bunker, you’ll also encounter a deadly creature who constantly stalks you.

Throughout the game, you’ll need to use all your resources and instincts to survive. With total control of your moment-to-moment decisions, can you survive the ever-looming threat? Amnesia: The Bunker opens its doors tomorrow for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Bread & Fred (May 23)

Bread & Fred

Bread & Fred is a platformer starring the adorable two titular penguins. Developed by Sand Castle Studio and published by Apogee Entertainment, this challenging co-op title literally tasks you with climbing a mountain. Described as a “rage game”, this title also aims to put friendships to the ultimate test.

Tied to your partner by a rope, players will need to work together to avoid obstacles that can send you both hurdling to the bottom. Can you make it to the top of the mountain? And, more importantly, can your friendship survive this adventure? You can find out when Bread & Fred falls onto PC tomorrow.

Farming Simulator 23 (May 23)

Farming Simulator 23 is exactly what it sounds like: a farming simulator. Developed and published by Giants Software, the next installment in the Farming Simulator franchise plants the seeds for the ultimate farming experience. The new game features more than 100 authentic vehicles and tools from all your favorite manufacturers.

In addition, the title offers 14 unique crops to sow, plant and harvest, including grapes, olives and sorghum. You’ll also participate in a variety of field activities, including plowing and weeding. Farming Simulator 23 is ready for harvest tomorrow for Nintendo Switch and all iOS and Android devices.

Miasma Chronicles (May 23)

Miasma Chronicles is a strategy game set in the not-too-distant future. Developed by The Bearded Ladies and published by 505 Games, this title places you into an America that’s been torn apart by a savage force known only as the ‘Miasma’. Players take on the role of Elvis, a young man brought to the mining town of Sedentary as a baby.

Throughout the game, you’ll join your robotic brothers on a quest across a post-apocalyptic wasteland to find answers about your past. In fact, these answers may even change the course of human history forever. Miasma Chronicles launches tomorrow for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Star Trek: Resurgence (May 23)

Star Trek: Resurgence

Star Trek: Resurgence is an exciting new adventure game set in the Star Trek universe. Developed and published by Dramatic Labs, this narrative-driven sci-fi title aims to place fans into a truly immersive Star Trek experience. Throughout the game, you’ll need to make major choices that shape the fate of the world.

Players control both an officer and a commander, as you attempt to solve a mystery aboard the U.S.S. Resolute. As the narrative unfolds, your relationships will also change based on your choices. You can launch into Star Trek: Resurgence tomorrow on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.

Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue (May 25)

Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue lets you team with friends to free a captive in this VR take on Hello Neighbor. Developed and published by tinyBuild, this game lets you switch between characters to outsmart the AI of your creepy neighbor. In addition, you’ll have to use your wits to find alternate solutions to a dynamic range of puzzles and environmental obstacles.

Throughout the game, you and a friend will need to find an approach to infiltrate Mr. Peterson’s house by alternating perspectives. You’ll also experience nightmarish dream sequences and learn more about the secrets of the Hello Neighbor universe. Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue breaks into your house this Thursday on PlayStation VR2 and PlayStation VR.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum (May 25)

Closing this week is Daedalic Entertainment‘s Middle Earth adventure The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The exciting adventure invites players to follow Gollum’s journey from a slave below the Dark Tower all the way until the Elves of Mirkwood. Throughout the game, you’ll use stealth, agility and cunning to survive the perilous quests.

In addition, players can also take advantage of climbing and grappling mechanics to better maneuver the world. Gollum also has a variety of approaches to facing down enemies, with many creative and villainous assassinations. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum journeys onto PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC this Thursday.
