The Ghostbusters are making their way to VR on Meta Quest 2!

Who they gonna call? You!

There’s some exciting news for anyone who ever wanted to gear up their proton packs and trap ghosts in VR! At yesterday’s Quest Gaming Showcase, Meta announced a Ghostbusters VR game is headed to the Meta Quest 2.

Ghostbusters VR is a four-player co-op game that sees you and three other people hunt and trap ghosts as you carry out the Ghostbusters legacy with your own HQ. As opposed to the movie’s iconic New York setting, however, your all new team of Ghostbusters set up shop in San Francisco. After all, the paranormal isn’t confined to just the Big Apple.

Throughout the game, you’ll track down and capture ghosts across the city with iconic equipment that fans of the movies should instantly recognize. In addition, the game offers a rich and extensive campaign that establishes a new chapter in the Ghostbusters universe. Although the game is co-op, players can also protect the city from fiendish ghosts alone as well.

Although the trailer is only a minute long, it teases the beautiful visuals you and your friends will get to experience. Ectoplasm drips from floating objects, and a very fast ghost dashes across the screen. For fans of the Ghostbusters franchise, this game looks incredibly fun.

Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) will publish the game, while nDreams works on its development. Gamers may recognize the developer as the team behind Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity. While there is currently no release window, SPVR adds they will reveal more information in the next few months. You can also learn more information about Ghostbusters VR from the official website.
