The Ascent is headed to PlayStation

Good news for PlayStation-only players! One of the best titles from GamePass in 2021 is finally headed over to the PS4/5. Cyberpunk top-down shooter The Ascent will arrive on the systems on March 24th. You can check out the announcement tweet below from developer Neon Giant.

More coming for The Ascent as well!

The Ascent will also be getting DLC and New Game+ as a free update. The DLC, called the Cyber Warrior pack, will add new sets of armor and weapons. It is available now on Steam for $4.99. The New Game+ will add more difficult enemies along with higher level caps for characters and weapons.

It’s always good to see a successful indie like The Ascent head to more platforms. Not only does it allow for more players to find it, but it can help the developer substantially finance-wise for their next project. I’ve only played a bit, but the game has a vibrant art style that leans heavily into cyberpunk aesthetics. The graphics looked fantastic on the Series X, so I’m sure it should carry over to PS4/5 just fine.

The Ascent is available now for Xbox Series S/X and PC. Our own VirtuaDrew reviewed the game on PC and had a lot to say. If you’re curious to try it out, give the review a look! Are you excited to see the game come over to PS4/5? Let us know in the comments below!
