The Ascent gets in on the DLC act with ‘Cybersec’ pack today

The DLC launches alongside a free patch for all players.

Publisher Curve Games and developer Neon Giant announced that the first paid DLC pack for action-shooter The Ascent launches today.

The DLC pack, titled CyberSec, introduces a variety of new weapons. The two new guns in the game include the NEWT MGL, a powerful grenade launcher, and the RECOIL, a ballistic burst rifle. In addition, the CyberSec Pack includes a new tactical weapon in the form of the GROOP Cluster Grenade. This lethal grenade comes packed with explosive cluster damage.

In addition, CyberSec introduces four new pieces of armor. The BOOMBLOCK SCALP offers medium head protection, while the BOOMBLOCK H-HD provides advanced protection to the head. The DLC pack also includes the BOOMBLOCK VEST that offers advanced torso protection and the BOOMBLOCK SHIN PROTECTOR to give you medium leg protection. In addition a free update for The Ascent also goes live today. The update introduces the all new Transmogrification feature. This allows players to change their appearance of any armor in their inventory by visiting the Stylist. The applied visual styles transfer over to whatever armor the player currently has equipped. In short, Transmogrification allows players to retain their customized look no matter what armor they use.

About The Ascent

The Ascent launched earlier this year for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. The cyberpunk-themed action shooter was developer Neon Giant’s first game. Neon Giant’s team is an indie studio comprised of 12 industry veterans, responsible for beloved AAA shooters like Gears of War and Wolfenstein.

Although The Ascent offered promising content, the PC version faced technical issues upon launch. The developers state that they’ve been following fan feedback closely and have lots of new content in store in the near future. CyberSec, the game’s first paid DLC is available today for $4.99.
