Seiko is making a Sonic the Hedgehog watch for his 30th anniversary

SEGA is pulling out all the stops for Sonic and his 30th anniversary celebration. Last week, the blue brand held a streaming event called Sonic Central. In that event, they showed off an enormous amount of hedgehog-themed goodies. The announcements ranged from extra DLC in Two Point Hospital, to a brand new Sonic game in 2022.

One of the announcements SEGA made last week included merchandise for those with big wallets. SEGA and SEIKO partnered up to create a beautiful, hand-made, designer watch. The watch is inspired by the very first Sonic the Hedgehog game, with our blue friend running in between the rings that represent the time.

The outer ring is an emerald green and the center is a bright blue. These colors are supposed to represent the very first level in the game: Green Hill Zone. On the back of the watch is a 30th anniversary logo etched in, along with a unique number. Seiko is only making 3,000 of these bad boys, so your number will represent that limited quantity.

The watch comes in a blue box with gold print and includes a warranty card in case anything goes wrong. The watch is available for pre-order on Premico. For only 54,780 yen ($500) you can wear Sonic with style. The watches will ship out sometime in August.

Do you have $500 lying around somewhere? If you do, please let me know so I can buy this watch for myself. It’s certainly sleek and stylish, and I didn’t think a Sonic watch can look so good. Better act now before all the watches disappear!
