SEGA Slots shutting down service next month

If you’ve been a faithful SEGA Slots player for a while, you might need to sit down before you read this because we have to be the bearer of some really bad news.

According to an in-app notification, the game will be shutting down on Feb. 26. What’s more, in-app purchases will be disabled on Jan. 27.

The message read, “We would like to express our most sincere thanks to all of our players for their patronage and support. Thank you for playing SEGA Slots.”

Oooof. The game, released last January on Android and iOS devices, featured many of SEGA’s popular characters and seemed fairly popular. It’s a shame for fans that it’s getting shuttered after only a year.
