SEGA releases Monster Gear in Japan on iOS, Android

SEGA’s foray into the free-to-play Monster Hunter style mobile genre has begun with Monster Gear, and it’s now available on iOS and Android devices for those in Japan.

To play the game, it looks like you’ll need at least iOS 6.0 and Android 4.1 installed, and you can find the device compatibility list here.

The game features up to four-player co-op, and players can choose from several weapon types: a large sword, dual-sword wielding, a lance, hammer and bow. In all, it’s said there is more than 100 million equipment customization options available.

SEGA has yet to reveal an official release date in the West, but we expect to hear something soon. You can find more information on the game’s official site.
