SEGA Mega Drive Mini 2 is available for pre-order in Europe

Supply is limited for the micro-console, so get your pre-order in as soon as you can!

Earlier this year, SEGA confirmed a second edition of the Mega Drive Mini will be hitting the scene in October. While the list of games is certainly enticing with a number of Mega CD / SEGA CD games added as well, SEGA’s confirmation that supply of the console will be limited has led to doubts on the console’s success. Nevertheless, SEGA is moving ahead with pre-orders of the Mega Drive Mini 2 in Europe.

The console is scheduled for release on Oct. 27 in Japan and Europe. It will contain 60 titles from SEGA’s Mega Drive and Mega CD library, including new ports and previously unreleased titles.

Pre-orders have gone live via an Amazon.co.uk listing, which can be found here. Be warned that inventory of the SEGA Mega Drive Mini 2 will be severely limited, and as of writing, the Amazon listing appears to be sold out. No word yet on when SEGA will restock them.

Mega Drive Mini 2 Pre-Order

The Mega Drive Mini 2 pre-order: what you need to know

The Mega Drive Mini 2 is available for pre-order in Europe now via Amazon.co.uk. This console is apparently an Amazon exclusive, and this listing is only valid for European customers. Supply is limited, so check back on the Amazon page every so often to see when SEGA has restocked it.

Do you live in North America? SEGA hasn’t announced a Genesis Mini 2 model for this microconsole yet, and there are no official plans to do so in the future. However, North American buyers can get their hands on a Mega Drive Mini 2 by importing it from Japan via Amazon. The import price may be heftier than you would normally pay, but until SEGA introduces the Genesis Mini 2, it appears to be the only option.

Have you pre-ordered the Mega Drive Mini 2 yet? If so, what games are you looking forward to playing on the system? Let us know!
