SEGA Genesis collectable plush available now for pre-order

Retro SEGA collectors will foam at the mouths at the new SEGA Genesis collectable plush.

Available for pre-order from Big Bad Toy Store, this highly detailed plush replica of the SEGA Genesis makes a perfect addition for retro collectors.

The product features interactive elements, including both a removable controller and Sonic game cartridge. Each of these items can be placed into and taken out of the console at will. The console itself is 12 inches, and all of the pieces are plush. Each element fully replicates the original Genesis counterparts.

Designed by KIDROBOT, the SEGA Genesis plush replica includes every detail from the iconic console in its design. Each button on the console remains identical to its counterpart. The raised cartridge drives features, not only the iconic logo but also the text “16-BIT” and “HIGH DEFINITION GRAPHICS”. Even the console’s fan exists on the side.

The detail could have ended there, and people would be still happy. However, KIDROBOT went a step further by replicating the back to include the “IF YOU NEED HELP” sticker and the model identification sticker.

These impressive details follow over to the controller and cartridge replicas as well. The controller, modeled after the original three-button version, features a design that fully captures the essence of the Genesis. KIDROBOT also gave special care to the connectors, detailing them to add the appearance of the original texture.

The standout feature is the Sonic the Hedgehog plush cartridge. It looks identical to the original, using the same picture and the iconic Genesis logo. Behind the cartridge lies its most impressive feature, however. KIDROBOT went so far as to include both the screws and the caution notice on the model.

The SEGA Genesis plush is available for pre-order now from Big Bad Toy Store. The item costs $35.99 and is expected to arrive sometime during this year’s Holiday Season.
