SEGA Europe boss thinks Lost World will help struggling Wii U

In an interview with MCV, SEGA Europe president Jurgen Post said he thinks Sonic: Lost World could help turn things around for Nintendo’s struggling Wii U.

“I certainly hope Sonic can help. The Lost World might just be our best Sonic game yet; it is one of the games that can help them,” Post said.

The Wii U is struggling globally, and last week only managed to sell a paltry 10,000 consoles in Japan. Post went on to say SEGA and Nintendo’s relationship is strong and is happy with sales of previous Sonic titled on Nintendo platforms.

“Historically Sonic games have always sold very well on Nintendo platforms, so it’s a good fit,” he said. “And Nintendo and SEGA have always worked together in a positive way – the first game Sonic debuted on after we stopped making hardware was a Nintendo platform.”
