SEGA definitely teasing mobile Typing of the Dead

Well, if there were any doubts to the teaser image SEGA posted on its social media sites last night wasn’t Typing of the Dead related, I think this new image pretty much eliminates them. The new image fills in four of the seven blanks in the “ON OCTOBER 29TH GUTS WILL BE _ _ _ _ _ _ _.”

As you can see in the image, it looks like the missing word is “SPELLED.” The crazy thing about this whole story, is we were talking to Dan Mitre about SEGA releasing a mobile Typing of the Dead just a few days ago. Of course, Dan didn’t let on anything was planned during or after the interview, but this is definitely a great release by SEGA.

Now that the mystery game has apparently been revealed, the next question is what development studio is working on it. Earlier this year, Hardlight Studio’s Chris Southall told us his company was actively developing a follow-up to a classic SEGA IP for mobile devices. Could this be it?

Also, will SEGA look to the free-to-play market with this game, and what possible social features could SEGA implement to broaden its appeal to more than the die hard House of the Dead fans out there?
