Ren & Stimpy added to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Oh, joy! These beloved Nickelodeon characters are joining the cast of All-Star Brawl

The roster for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl continues to grow as Ren and Stimpy join the roster.

The reveal trailer for the duo released yesterday on YouTube. The trailer showcases a collage of the duo duking it out against a variety of other popular Nickelodeon characters. One notable detail on the characters’ inclusion is that they play as one fighter. Ren rides on Stimpy’s shoulders, and the two operate together jointly in fights.

In an article on PlayStation Blog, Ludosity project manager Joel Nyström explains the decision to include Ren and Stimpy as a single unit.

As anyone who has watched the show knows, they are separate characters with distinct personalities, but they are also inseparable which is why they play as a single, joint character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

Nyström adds that Ren sitting on Stimpy’s shoulders means the duo moves much slower than other characters. However, this mechanic is balanced by allowing the two to attack from multiple directions. The duo also has very good range with a log projectile attack.

The characters may seem complicated to control since they operate together. However, the developers went out of their way to make sure that even beginners could have fun playing as them. They gave the pair a wide range of attacks that make it easy to hit opponents without needing to reposition.

As we near the leaked release date of October 5, we remain excited to see what else is in store for the Nickelodeon-themed brawler. Although this date is not confirmed by the developers, we do know that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl launches this fall. It will release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
