New Pokémon HOME update will add compatibility to recent games

Plus get special gifts for transferring your Pokémon!

A new update coming soon to Pokémon HOME (version 2.0.0) will allow players to link progress with multiple recent games. The new compatible games include Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl. In addition, players can link past games Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu!, Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee! and Pokémon GO.

Of the linkable games, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be mutually compatible with Pokémon HOME. This means players can deposit and withdraw their Pokémon to and from each of these titles. However, when you transfer a Pokémon to a game you did not originally catch it in, you may notice certain changes. These changes can include learned moves, its level and the type of Poké Ball you caught it in.

Another new feature coming to version 2.0.0 is the inclusion of new Pokédexes in Pokémon HOME. Until now, the only Pokédex featured in HOME was the National Pokédex. However, once the update releases, Pokémon in your Boxes will be registered in the Pokédex of their respective game. You’ll also be able to get new stickers to decorate your profile by completing achievements in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME.

Special gifts heading your way to Pokémon HOME

Additionally, players who link Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, and Pokémon Shining Pearl will receive special Pokémon as gifts. When players deposit a Pokémon from Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl to the Switch version of HOME, they’ll receive Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup. All three of the Pokémon will feature Hidden Abilities in the mobile version of HOME.

Players who transfer a Pokémon from Legends: Arceus to the Switch version of HOME will get Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott. Each of these Pokémon will appear in the mobile version of HOME with maximum effort levels.
