Fallout New Vegas 2: the sequel that never came

The action-RPG Fallout New Vegas originally released in 2010. The Obsidian-developed game served as a spinoff to Bethesda’s mainline Fallout games. However, New Vegas quickly became the fan-favorite for many Fallout players.

More than any other title in the series, New Vegas allowed players true freedom with difficult decisions that seriously impact the rest of the game. Because of this, the game received high praise from both critics and RPG fans alike. However, even with the praise, the spinoff title in the Fallout franchise never got a sequel.

Although Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart cited a keen interest in developing a New Vegas sequel in 2013, Obsidian and Bethesda never reached an agreement. Now, however, Microsoft owns both companies. Because of that, the potential to see Fallout New Vegas 2 is more likely than ever.

However, since Grubb reports that discussions between the two companies are still in their early stages, it could be a while before we see New Vegas 2. Do you think Obsidian’s beloved Fallout game will finally get a sequel? Let us know below!
