Mexican illustrators united for a Dreamcast fan art poster tribute

On November 27th of last year (2013) Dreamcast turned 15 years old. The Reztron, UK based retrotaiment brand, made an event at London to celebrate it, you can watch a full gallery of what happened at the event right here and over here. They previously did an amazing celebration for Mega Drive’s 25th Anniversary back on October from the same past year. So I was quite honored when I was invited by community twitter user @segaotaku to participate for the Dreamcast one with a poster of mine, I pitched 2 previous posters I already had and made a new one specially tailored for the event. After that, they made an open call and some friends at my country also threw in their arts too.

Long story short, a friend of mine who has a store here saw the posters we tweeted and offered me to exhibit them, shortly after, another store offered me a space too, and before we knew it… we had quite of a free to attend art show tour. The idea behind this was to make our own versions of the box art cover for some of the SEGA inhouse games that inspired us or left something in particular to us from the Dreamcast era.

So here’s the full lineup of those fan art posters, hope you guys like them!

The fan exhibit is currently being held unltil this Feb 12th at Mexico City. The idea was to spread the SEGA word among that area, where unluckely Dreamcast had no proper distribution, due to that not everyone was able to know many of these games.

If you happen to live at London, be sure to also follow The Reztron at twitter or FB, or to visit regularly their site to know of their upcoming events, they sure have a lot of SEGA retro love, great games, and consoles for attendees to experience!

Saturn turns 20th this year… wonder what we could do this time…
