Luke, the final Street Fighter V character, drops ingame November 29

“It’s the final countdown.” That’s right folks! November 29th is the release date for Capcom’s last Street Fighter V character. We have already had several awesome fan favorites added to the game, including Rose, Kage and Juri. Street Fighter V also saw the additions of Eleven, G, Laura, and Fang, among others, who made their debut throughout the fifth outing of the franchise, starting in 2016.

Previously announced in August, Capcom has now revealed more about Luke, the last fighter for Street Fighter V. Luke is a blond American mixed martial artist, whose tragic past is like something straight out of a comic book. In fact, his character design reminded me of a badass manga version of Steve Rodgers’ Captain America. Luke’s story starts with the seemingly death of his father, a man he describes as “just a simple, quiet and reserved man.” However, the “incident” that day proved he was much more than that. Luke vowed to become a man just like him and fight his own battles. Apparently, this sets him off on a journey through the military, into various experiences where he meets other Street Fighter V characters.

Luke- the next big thing?

We will get to know more about Luke, his past and future when he is released, Street Fighter V Director Takayuki Nakayama and Producer Shuhei Matsumoto said in a video showcase. “Luke will be a major part of the next Street Fighter project,” the duo promised, adding that more updates will follow about that project next year.

As for Luke’s fighting style, he isn’t one to back down. He aggressively gets close to his opponent, controlling the pace of the battle and forcing them to approach him. He uses a unique V-System that fills his V-Gauge in a neutral state. It will be a balancing act for players to maintain his V-Timer levels in order to pull off his attacks. I don’t know about you, but I’m always up for a challenge!

Are you eager for the next chapter in Street Fighter V? Have some guesses as to what we may see in the next outing for the franchise? Let us know!
