Logitech G and Tencent Games form new partnership

Earlier today, Logitech G announced a new partnership with Tencent Games to develop a brand new handheld cloud-based gaming device.

The new device, set to come out later this year, will combine Logitech G hardware with Tencent Games’ software services. It will offer support to multiple cloud gaming services, including Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce NOW. This means the new device will feature numerous AAA games that players can enjoy on the go.

Both companies feel optimistically about the new partnership and believe that this new device will revolutionize gaming by making cloud-gaming more accessible. Since cloud-based video games are rendered and played via remote servers, players will not need to download or install any of the titles on this device. Daniel Wu, general manager of Tencent Games Smart Solution Innovation Lab explains more about the companies’ shared optimism.

Logitech G’s leadership in PC and console gaming gear make them an ideal partner to help us realize the vision of brining a better gaming experience to gamers around the globe. Today marks the start of a new opportunity for our companies to further push the frontiers of gaming devices.

Ujesh Desai, general manager of Logitech G, reiterates the hopeful spirit of Wu. In addition, he elaborates on the goal to allow players to be able to stream AAA games.

As one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing and operations, Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation, and it’s why we partnered with them. As someone that grew up playing video games, the idea of being able to stream and play AAA games almost anywhere is super exciting, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.
