King of Fighters XV receives free DLC character

Take on the CPU from hell, Omega Rugal!

The King of Fighters XV welcomes a new character to its roster. SNK Corporation recently announced the availability in a DLC trailer, showing off the new character and a new game mode. Welcome Omega Rugal to The King of Fighters XV… and be ready to face him in battle.

Omega Rugal, the dark arms merchant of death

Fans of this franchise may recognize Omega Rugal from previous installments. He first appears in The King of Fighters ‘95 as the final boss. Now, players can not only play him, but also have the opportunity to face him in battle once more in the new game mode.

This dark arms merchant of death once ruled the world’s black market, and was never shy about digging his fangs into any fighter that dared challenge him. Through the power of Orochi, he was given life once again, until a group of fierce fighters brought his reign to an end. Now, due to Verse’s influence, he’s returned to the mortal realm to extract vengeance.

Omega Rugal dishes out lots of fast, hard-hitting combos in the trailer. With multiple kicks, punches, and energy waves, he looks to be a fun character to play and a difficult one to fight.

Along with the free addition of Omega Rugal, the game welcomes a new game mode called BOSS CHALLENGE. Fight Omega Rugal on the Strange Plateau to gain access to content such as his special armor and new music.

King of Fighters XV future characters

The King of Fighters XV plans to add three more teams consisting of three characters each. Including Omega Rugal’s launch and the upcoming plans, the game will have a roaster of 52 playable characters. That’s no number to laugh at! Players currently can add Omega Rugal to their game for free. While looking forward to an even bigger roaster, either play Omega Rugal yourself or prepare to fight him in the boss challenge.
