Jim Carrey gives a crew member a new car on Sonic 2 movie set

Jim Carrey is probably one of the nicest guys in showbusiness. Not only is he a talented actor in comedy and drama, but he’s generous too. The sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog is in full production mode. With the pandemic still ongoing and crew members coming in to work, it can be a stressful time.

Carrey thought to give the crew members a little morale boost. On Friday, he made a raffle where one employee would get a brand new car! It’s not any old car either; The prize is a brand new Chevy Blazer RS, which is worth more than $40,000.

The winner was picked at random Friday morning, and we’re positive that’s gotta be one happy camper. I’d love those kinds of group activities at my job! The crew member was not identified, but we’re informed they work as a grip. Principal photography for the movie has finished, but Carrey and the gang are not out of the woods just yet.

As production is still underway, we’ll keep you up to date as new information arises. Who doesn’t like a feel good story, though?? If you were looking for something about the actual movie, check out this news story about some familiar characters making their debut.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is zooming to a theater near you April 8, 2022. It stars Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Jim Carrey.
