Honeydew joins the hedge-hogcast

SEGA and Sumo Digital have teamed up with the popular Internet web show The Yogcast for some special charity downloadable content. The pack is priced at $4.99 / £2.99 and includes a cartoon persona of Simon Lane, aka Honeydew. All one-hundred perfect of the money gained by selling this downloadable character will be donated to the Special Effect charity.

Special Effect help gamers with disabilities to overcome their physical challenges and enjoy games just as anybody else would. Games present a fantastic sense of escapism and when playing with friends they can also be a valuable social experience too. It would be a shame for any individual to miss out on any of these things. We advise you take a look at the charities YouTube channel for many heart-warming videos showcasing people forgetting about daily life and having lots of fun.

It seems a lot of players avidly waiting for more All-Stars Racing Transformed content are kicking up a bit of a fuss. Many seem confused as to who the character is, myself included. The Steam page claims that The Yogcast is the most popular Internet show in the UK. Living in the UK myself and being a frequent user of YouTube for over five years now, I’m surprised I have managed to avoid all trace of their show.

Despite the controversy, it’s nice to see the developers teaming up with popular (supposedly) internet people to help give back to charity. We can’t help but feel a little disappointed that we’re not seeing the likes of say, Hatsune Miku or Segata Sanshiro. Surely they would have gained more interest and helped to raise even more money? Who knows.
