Halo renewed for season 2 before premiering by Paramount

We are weeks away from the premiere of the Halo TV show on Paramount Plus. The show is set to debut on the service on March 24. But it seems that Paramount is impressed so far with what they’ve seen. Today, the service announced that they have ordered a second season. You can check out the tweet below confirming the news.

To do this for Halo before it has even premiered is a massive vote of confidence from Paramount. Media companies will rarely go ahead and begin the process of planning and funding a second season of a series until they see how viewership numbers are. But it seems that Paramount believes that the show will be a monster hit for the platform.

It’s not a risky gamble to make either. Halo is going through a positive reinvigoration right now as a franchise. Halo Infinite has been a stupendous success for Xbox. It’s brought fans back to the franchise who left the series for a while (including myself). So if the show can nail what fans love about the franchise, why not keep moving forward? I do wonder how far they can go story-wise since it’s a prequel?

We’ll just have to wait and find out on March 24 what the show has planned for the expansive Halo universe? Are you excited to see the show? Let us know below!
