Fans catch a clever way to snag years of PlayStation Plus Premium

With the upcoming new version of PlayStation Plus Premium, fans are preparing for the inevitable merging between PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now. While we still figure out what games are coming, some crafty bargain shoppers took advantage of an exploit.

Over the weekend, Twitter users @Wario64 and @IGNDeals figured out a specific link to buy 12 months of PlayStation Now still worked. This is important because Sony announced that the option was removed after the announcement of the new service.

Now, why did they want people to not know about the link? Well, PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now subscriptions will convert to Premium in June. So, stack buying the subscriptions for years will allow some accounts to have years under their belts of the new service.

It’s a brilliant workaround that makes total sense why Sony didn’t want people knowing about it. It is not clear how many people stacked years of the new service. But it had to be enough to get Sony’s attention. Because on April 4th, the 12-month link was finally shut down. Stinks if you missed it. But huge props to any budget-conscious gamers that got years of PlayStation Plus Premium now under their account.

PlayStation Plus Premium launches in June for all Sony consoles. What do you think about the new subscription service? Did you manage to snag the deal before it went down? Let us know in the comments below!
