E3 2023 is happening in L.A. next June

The ESA is parterning with ReedPop, the organizers behind the PAX series of events, to make it happen.

When E3 2022 was cancelled this year, the organizers made it clear: while this year’s event isn’t happening, E3 2023 was definitely still on. Naturally, many expressed skepticism, especially among those still unconvinced that physical events are ready to return.

But it seems like the announcement wasn’t just hot air. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) announced today that E3 will happen next year in the second week of June. The event is set to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Interestingly, the ESA is teaming up with PAX organizer ReedPop to make it happen.

“It is a tremendous honor and privilege for ReedPop to take on the responsibility of bringing E3 back in 2023,” said ReedPop president Lance Fensterman. “With the support and endorsement of the ESA, we’re going to build a world-class event to serve the global gaming industry in new and broader ways than we already do at ReedPop through our portfolio of world leading events and websites.”

E3 2023 and ReedPop: a match made in heaven?

It’s no secret that the last few years have been rough for E3. With two events cancelled and one gone digital-only, it seemed that the physical event was done and dusted. But by partnering with ReedPop, who’s most famous for organizing the PAX events alongside Penny Aracde, the ESA might be bringing it back stronger than ever.

“The past three years have confirmed that E3 convenes our industry like no other event,” explained ESA CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis. “ReedPop brings world-class talent and a keen understanding of the video game industry, which will serve to enhance the E3 experience for years to come.”

No companies have confirmed attendance for E3 2023 yet, of course. We can expect some of the regulars like Microsoft, EA, and PC Gamer will have a showing.

Will you be attending E3 2023 next year? What companies do you think will show up at the event? Let us know!
