Good morning, everybody! It’s once again the start of a new week, which means we have tons of new exciting games in store. Whether you want to dive deep into the reimagined adventure of Colossal Cave or re-experience some classic Persona titles, there’s something for you. So, let’s not waste anymore time as we jump into this week’s upcoming games!

Colossal Cave (Jan. 19)

Colossal Cave - Reimagined by Roberta Williams

Starting things off this week, is Colossal Cave. Developed and published by Cygnus Entertainment, the new studio started by Sierra On-Line founders Ken and Roberta Williams, this game reimagines the classic 1976 text adventure. Retaining the core of the text-based classic, the reimagined version features point-and-click controls with outcome probabilities ripped straight from the original title.

However, this time around, you can experience the fantastic journey with fully realized 3D visuals designed by the legendary Roberta Williams. Colossal Cave journeys out to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC this Thursday. In addition, the game will be fully playable in virtual reality on Meta Quest 2.

A Space for the Unbound (Jan. 19)

Then, developer Mojiken and publisher Toge Productions give us a new adventure in A Space for the Unbound. The game places you in rural Indonesia during the ’90s. In this slice-of-life adventure, you’ll experience the relationship of two high school sweethearts.

The charming tale gets interesting when one of the two in the couple develops psychic abilities. When their small town is threatened by supernatural occurrences, it’s up to the pair of them to get to the bottom of it while also learning more about each other. A Space for the Unbound ventures out to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC this Thursday.

Persona 3 Portable (Jan. 19)

Persona 3 Portable is an updated version of Persona 3. Developed and published by Atlus, the original game first hit PSP in 2009. Now, the classic game makes its way to modern consoles.

The remastered RPG focuses on what is known as the “Dark Hour.” Unfamiliar stillness swallows the city, people turn into eerie coffins and otherworldly monsters called Shadows swarm. However, when the Shadows attack, our heroes awaken their Personas. Persona 3 Portable comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC this Thursday.

Persona 4 Golden (Jan. 19)

In addition, Atlus also plans to revive another classic title this week in the form of Persona 4 Golden. First released in 2012, the expanded edition of Persona 4 made waves on the PlayStation Vita. The game balances high school life with a fantastical RPG adventure that centers around TVs that house monsters.

The story centers around protagonist Yu Narukami and the rest of his investigation team. Together, you uncover the mysterious murders happening around the rural town of Inaba. Persona 4 Golden hits PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on Thursday.

Fire Emblem Engage (Jan. 20)

Fire Emblem Engage cover

Fire Emblem Engage is the next installment in the long-running tactical-RPG franchise. Developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, the new entry takes place on the continent of Elyos. After discovering you are a divine dragon with the quest to gather mysterious rings to save the land, you set off an exciting adventure.

In the game, you can recruit both new and familiar faces into your Divine Dragon team-up. As you venture on, you’ll engage in strategical battles players should feel at home in if they played other games in the series. Fire Emblem Engage launches on Nintendo Switch this Friday.

Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! (Jan. 20)

Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! closes out this week. Developed and published by Game Freak, this mobile card/racing game blends the worlds of solitaire and horse-racing for a fun hybrid. The game sees you play solitaire in order to guide your steed to the finish line.

The quicker you can clear cards in succession, the happier your horse will be, allowing it to charge energy during races. In addition, your position on the track determines the difficulty of your solitaire rounds, adding to the game’s unique challenge. You can ride into Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! when it hits iOS devices this Friday.
