ChuChu Rocket coming to Wii U in Japan on Oct. 21

Our friends in Japan are about to another beloved SEGA title that might not make it across the pond.

The Gameboy Advance version of ChuChu Rocket will be released on the Nintendo Wii U’s Virtual Console on Oct. 21 for 702 yen. The download will come in at a 200 MB download, according to Nintendo’s website. It might be a long shot, but how awesome would it be if a ChuChu was added to Super Smash Bros., one of this year’s top selling video games? That might just be the exposure the series needs to get it rolling again!

ChuChu Rocket was originally released in Japan on March 21, 2001, and in the U.S. on June 11. The game currently has an 84 Metacritic score, with GameSpot saying, “It’ll take you a little while to get used to the controls, but once you do, you’ll find that ChuChu Rocket offers a lot of value and a lot of fun for moments or hours at a time.”

Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether this game will be released here in the West, but we’d certainly love an excuse to play some ChuChu Rocket again.
