Bullet hell shoot ’em ups Deathsmiles I & II return in a physical bundle!

The arcade shoot 'em up returns this June!

On Tuesday, publisher Clear River Games announced that Deathsmiles I and II will launch for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in a physical bundle.

Deathsmiles I and II are side-scrolling bullet hell shoot ’em ups set in a gothic horror world. Japanese studio CAVE developed the original games, which launched for arcades in 2007 and 2009. Featuring adorable characters designed by manga artist Junya Inoue, fans enjoyed both the art-style and gameplay mechanics. Players champion these games’ easy-to-play yet hard-to-master controls that create an addictive challenge.

Alongside the original version of both games, the physical bundle also comes with the Mega Black Label Edition of the original game. In addition, all titles feature three unique variations of the respective game. Particularly, Deathsmiles II features “Arrange Mode”. The arranged version remixes the game with new rules and introduces brand new challenges to give players a fresh experience.

The games also offer players full practice modes, as well as online ranking. Training Mode gives new players the chance to learn the game, in addition to setting the stage and state of your character in detail. For competitive players, the online ranking system will feature separate leaderboards for each specific title and version.
