Bloodborne Demake trailer sets release date for PC

“This curse… this nightmare… this battle… how will it end?”

Developer Lilith Walther announced the Bloodborne PS1 Demake, or Bloodborne PSX, on Twitter. Using the action role-playing game Bloodborne released in 2015, Walther remade—or demade—it to emulate the feeling of playing on the PlayStation 1 through nostalgic graphics and sound design.

Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, Bloodborne received critical acclaim for its gameplay, difficulty, atmosphere, and world design. With elements stemming from the Souls series, Bloodborne nor any of its siblings have been introduced to a PS1-like atmosphere. The first Souls game, Demon Souls, released for PS3 back in 2009.

Walther wanted to change that. Putting a twist onto the Triple-A game, Bloodborne now emulates the feeling of the old PS1 graphics and sound we know and love. Its release date trailer showcases a variety of monsters, weapons, and areas to explore, all in the PS1 aesthetic. VGM Arranger Evelyn Lark arranged both the trailer music and various different tracks in the game. The trailer leaves one last remark to fans returning to the world of Bloodborne: “Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.”

What is Bloodborne Demake’s release date?

Seeing as the main story of Bloodborne can take over 35 hours to beat, Walther’s version will only go up to the battle with Father Gascoigne. Despite this, extended areas and bonus content are also going to be available to explore.

As a fanmade game, Bloodborne PSX will be released for free, along with its source code a few months after it first launches. CRT effects can be modified or completely turned off depending on what the player wants. Made in Unreal Engine, the game works on PC rather than an actual PS1 or an emulator.

The Bloodborne Demake releases January 31, 2022 for PC. Undoubtedly created with much love and passion for the original version, fans of the game won’t want to miss out on this unique experience.
