Berserk Boy announced for 2022 with art by Sketchcraft

It’s so nice to see friends doing well for themselves don’t you think? From the fittingly named BerserkBoy Games comes Berserk Boy, an exciting new 2D action platformer with music from Tee Lopes of Sonic Mania fame and art from Sketchcraft, who you’ll all know for doing the lovely illustrations for our magazine.

On the games Steam page, the story goes that:

In the distant future… Driven insane by his obsession with Berserk Force Orbs, the diabolical Dr. Genos and his army of Dark Energy minions wage war on the people of Earth. Hope for all humanity rests with The Resistance, but are they enough? As the battle begins, a new hero joins the fight…

Kei, a young, inexperienced rookie, is transformed by mysterious Orb energy into BERSERK BOY! As the shadow of evil looms ever larger, Kei knows he must use his new powers to defeat Dr. Genos and save the planet. Because when all else fails, there is only one thing for it… GO BERSERK!

With a variety of abilities at your disposal, along with the games’ great sense of speed, it looks to be a great fusion between Sonic and Mega Man gameplay elements.

Berserk Boy is still a way’s off, with the game releasing in 2022, and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC.

I take immense pride in my ability to vanish on an F1 Grand Prix weekend. Very good at getting invested in dying hardware (Buying a Vita at launch was NOT a mistake). It is also my sworn duty to ensure every person I meet has played Gravity Rush. That includes you, reader, play Gravity Rush, I'll know if you haven't.
