Atlus teases a tentpole title; could release in 2022

2022 is already looking like a massive year for Atlus. Along with the 25th Anniversary of the Persona franchise, it seems other projects are cooking. In an interview published by Famitsu, Atlus project manager Shinjiro Takada revealed that they are hoping to release a tentpole title in 2022 for the company. According to him:

I chose “challenge” as the keyword for 2022, with the hope to release a game that will become a pillar for Atlus. All of us at Atlus are working hard to develop this game so that it will be interesting and satisfying for everyone, so please look forward to it.

This quote could mean a multitude of things with Atlus. For example, we already know that a port of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is coming to Switch. And Atlus also confirmed that Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is getting remastered for modern consoles. So what could Takada be referring to? Could it be the long-awaited Project Re Fantasy? A remaster that they are holding onto for the right time to release? Or could it be the big gun we all know they have in Persona 6? Only time will tell as we get 2022 kicked off.

What do you think is the next big project from Atlus? Let us know in the comments below!
