If you grew up in the late 90s or early 00s, you know the name, NFL Blitz. The franchise was a staple in the arcade football genre with its over-the-top action, fast pace, and wrestling-style hits after the play was over. While the series hasn’t seen a new entry in over ten years, we might just be getting the next best thing.
Arcade1Up has confirmed they are releasing an NFL Blitz cabinet that will retail at $599.99! The cabinet will include Blitz, Blitz 99, and Blitz 2000: Gold Edition. The cabinets will also have wifi capability for each game. You can check out the announcement tweet below.
I’m surprised that Arcade1Up worked closely with NFL and the Players Association to ensure players’ rights were taken care of. Commonly with sports game re-releases, getting the rights and likeness of older players is the hardest part. To see both sides work to confirm this wasn’t an issue is fantastic news!
