After Burner Climax returns thanks to SEGA Forever

After Burner Climax was removed from mobile marketplaces in 2015, along with its console ports, due to expiring licensing agreements, leaving fans only with their memories of soaring through the air blasting enemies to smithereens.

However, SEGA has announced that the mobile version will return and make its way to their SEGA Forever line at some point. They didn’t release a release date, but hopefully we’ll see it in the next few months.

We don’t know what this means for a potential return for the console version, but it’d be awesome to see it return, as well.

After Burner Climax was originally released on arcade in 2006 and on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010. The iOS and Android port was released in 2013.
