A playable alpha was released for the Tomb Raider 3DO port

Check out the latest Tomb Raider port using the OpenLara engine!

Video game developer Timur Gagiev developed a port of Tomb Raider for the 3DO.

He created the port using the OpenLara engine. Gagiev created the OpenLara engine himself as a way to create Tomb Raider ports for a variety of consoles and devices. The engine is an open source reimplementation of the same engine used to develop the first five Tomb Raider games.

The 3DO version of the game is his latest port. Currently, this version is in the alpha stage of development. Aside from frame rate issues and occasional freezing, the early alpha demo of Tomb Raider on 3DO is extremely impressive. Gagiev released a gameplay video on his YouTube channel to show off the progress.

In the past, Gagiev created ports of Tomb Raider for a number of other platforms. Some of his notable creations include ports for modern consoles, such as Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. However Gagiev’s most impressive port may be one for Google VR.
