Humankind releases August 17 on Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft announced strategy game Humankind will be available on Xbox Game Pass for PC upon its release. Megan Spurr, a writer for Xbox Wire, posted a story August 9th announcing that Humankind will launch with Xbox Game Pass for PC immediately upon its release.

Humankind is a 4X strategy game developed by Amplitude Studios and published by SEGA. The game allows players to create and lead a unique civilization that combines 60 cultures from across history. Although previously scheduled to release in April 2021, the developers chose to delay Humankind to release in August to further develop and fine-tune the game. In addition to Xbox Game Pass, this game will also be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store on August 17.

One of the features that makes Humankind unique is the ability to combine various cultures from across human history in a way that leads to nearly endless possibilities. An official marketing slogan for the title is, “More than history, it is your story.” Throughout the game, players can expect to face historical events and make impactful moral decisions. The choices the player makes will greatly impact the course of their civilization.

The object of the game is to increase your civilization’s fame. At the end of the game, the player with the most fame will attain victory. There are many ways to increase your fame in Humankind. The developers explain that, “Every great deed you accomplish, every moral choice you make, every battle won will build your fame.”
